Why Parallel operation of two Transformer are Required?..

Answer / hemachandra.m

main reason to parralel operation of the transformers are
for the load sharing purpose means if we have more load
than the excisting t/f then wecan do the parralel operation
of the two transformers that two transformers must be same
voltage ratio,vector group,and turns ratio.

Answer / binay agrawal

after parallisation of trafo.,we can give a stable voltage
to the load, also if there is any probelem in any trafo. ,
than we can transfer all the the load to the another .

Why Parallel operation of two Transformer are Required?..

Answer / akshay khadse

when load current increases above the capacity of one x"mer , we can connect one more i parallel instead of replacing the existing with bigger one.
it is possible to repair or maintain the x"mer in parallel connect one by one without shutting off the plant.
if a 1 large x"mer used its failure will shut off the installation .the parallel x"mer solve this problem

Why Parallel operation of two Transformer are Required?..

Answer / prasad

I would like add a point to reena:
Generally we choose transformers with same capacity and impedance for redudandancy in Process plants to avoid power interruption to process.. and we do paralleling of trfs to carryout load shiftings without interruption especially critical loads.. (this is not in the case of lighting etc. where interruption really doesn't matter.)

Why Parallel operation of two Transformer are Required?..

Answer / reena

Main reason for parrallal operation of trasformer is to work without failure because we need power for 24 hours.

If failure occur or in cse of maitanace we can provide power to the consumer.

Also, one reason is that in parralal operation transformer share the total load. So, instead of one transformer if we have two it save total cost as well as the mainance cost coz we can manage with one if other has fualt so, we can atleat give power to the critical load.
