diff between grounding & earthing..

Answer / snehasish roy chowdhury

actually,we use the term "gronding" for connecting the same
terminals ie in electronics lab, plate is used for
grounding, but earthing is totally different--it is used to
connect the same terminals with earth ,i.e to make one
terminal voltage absolute zero.

diff between grounding & earthing..

Answer / amit

in electronics, the high frequency signals when are
connected to a common plate whose potential is said to be
comparatively zero,this is grounding..
while earthing is used in electrical where low frequency
signals are used..
there is also difference in there
representation......grounding is shown similar to a plane
mirror,while earthing is shown differently

diff between grounding & earthing..

Answer / k. c. sharma

Earthing and grounding are same when the electrical system
is located on earth and these two terms can be used
interchangeably. only requirement is that the earthing or
grounding point is to be connected to the general mass of
the earth by means of conductors. However, when the
electrical system is located at other places like in space,
in aeroplane, on the surface of the moon etc., the term
earthing can not be used and only applicable term is
'Grounding'.

Neutral is the current return path for phase.
earth in a mains electrical wiring system is a conductor that provides a low impedance path to the earth to prevent hazardous voltages from appearing on equipment.

diff between grounding & earthing..

Answer / muhammad ashraf

The earting means a body of electrical equipement or a
machien ground with the earth. and neutral we use it in
electrical circuits for equelizing the potantial between
two therminals (NEUTRAL AND LINE), meanwhile earthing is
used for grouding of a machien, and neutral is used for
potantial for a circuit. whitch we activate or disactivate
a circcuit.

Answer / aravind bandaru

According to my knowledge Grounding means connecting non electrical bodies to earth is called Grounding.for example
body earthing of electrical equipments.

Earthing means connecting electrical bodies to earth is called Earthing. For example neutral earthing of electrical equipment.....

diff between grounding & earthing..

Answer / kunal

electrical supply system is often connected to earth
ground, ground and neutral are closely related. Under
certain conditions, a conductor used to connect to a system
neutral is also used for grounding (earthing) of equipment
and structures. Current carried on a grounding conductor
can result in objectionable or dangerous voltages appearing
on equipment enclosures, so the installation of grounding
conductors and neutral conductors is carefully defined in
electrical regulations. Where a neutral conductor is used
also to connect equipment enclosures to earth, care must be
taken that the neutral conductor never rises to a high
voltage with respect to local ground
