if we use fuse in neutral what will happen?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Fuse is used to limit overcurrent. So we have to use fuse
in phase only.
Neutal is for pass, if any faulty current or unbalanced
current. We dont know how much Ampere current flows through
the neutral during any fault or unbalance, it may be high
current also. If we use fuse in neutral during faulty
current the fuse in neutral will blown and it will camage
the unbalanced power system. And it will damage yje
components.

Fuses are used to protect the equipment connected in the
circuit to protect from over current. phase is the entry
path for supply and neutral is the return path of suppy if
we use the fuse in return path(neutral) the equipment
connected in the circuit will get damage then only the
supply will reach the fuse

Firstly by electrical electricity board it is said so and if
we put fuse in neutral then if bcoz of over current the fuse
will blow out in neutral. But the person who is touchin the
live conductor will get a shock.... As there is no
protection there...

if this is an unbalance three phase system with single phase loads, Neutral is what locking the phase only, to single phase loads.
When neutral get open, the single phase loads in the system get connected between phases by serial connection. if the load are equal by chance, the loads will still work safely
if loads are unequal, smaller loads tend to get more voltage and larger loads will get lower voltage, leading to burning of smaller loads.

Additionally , if neutral fuse blows off , all single phase appliances are affected

The neutral should be solid and only Link should be provided
in neutral as if fuse is provided, in case of shock, it will
blow due to overload, but the supply will be available
through phase and the purpose of fuse is defeated.
In some case(domestic wiring) the neutral also contains
some potential due to unbalance of load in the supply (3
Phase). This holds true even if you are using the one out of
three phase . The neutral is displaced due to uneven
loading. Hence for any purpose of working, neutral Links
should also be disconnected along with the fuse in phase supply.

in case of a fault and a fuse put in neutral the fuse will not blows out the person in contact with the live part will continue to get a shock which will deny the purpose of fuse, the fuse will trip only in case of over current

Answer / gobinath npt
neutral is return path.. the electrons flow is only in phase..
so only the phase control is given to switch..if we provide
fuse in neutral its not safety for the equipments connected in
circuit when the current exceeds the limit...i.e... over
current..
