what is the exact direction of current?
as we know current travels from higher potential to lower
potential,so if we take battery +ve to -ve implies current
direction is from positive terminal to negative
terminal.,whereas electrons flow from negative to positive
as they are attracted by positive ions.current will be the
plow of charge but not flow of positive ions.please clarify
my doubt friends.

The direction of current is the same as the direction of
flow of positive charge, or in other words The direction of
current is opposite to direction of flow of negative
charge(electrons).

Answer / lins
In the earliest time ie. after the electricity had been
discovered, the scientists believed that electricity flows
from +ve to -ve. But after a long time they discovered that
in actual its from -ve to +ve ie. the electron flow.
So we now consider that either electron(-ve charges) is
flowing from -ve to +ve or positive charges flows from +ve
to -ve without changing the conventional belief.
