For simple easy remembering...
Make ur own excel sheet as per below
(its strictly not a technical way)
for Eg:for breakers 10-100 dive the breaker value with 4.5 you will get some value go to thte next cable size

10/4.5 =2.2sq.mm
go to 2.5 sq.mm

you can use this formula till you are familiar with the cable sizes (Y)

you have 100kva pole type TX
POWER 100x0.8= 80 kw
total load aprox: p= 47 kw
tx capactiy rate 47/100 =% 47 load
the resistance of earthing to be less than 3 ohms.
cable cu 70 squ mm to load 47 kw lengh 100 mtr
%e1= 0.0124(47x100)/70= 0.85 tolal load
from tx to panels supply 32.5 kw lengh 50mtr cable 4cxm35 mm squ + 14.5 kw lengh 25mtr cable10 squ mm
%e2= 0.0124(32x50)/35= 0.56
%e3= 0.124(14x25)/10= 0.4
%e = %(0.85+0.56+0.4)= %1,81 < %3
total of the voltage drop is acceptable

dear.first we need to know about amp range.
example 50 amp which i have to select cable size according amp load.
amp range/5 up to 30 amp
and amp range / 4 up to 125 amp
more than it amp of range amp /2

For 400V 3ph AC system
# For 1% permissible voltage drop
size of cable in mmsq (aluminium cable)=( I*L) /80
# For 2% permissible voltage drop
size of cable in mmsq (aluminium cable)=( I*L) /160
# For 3% permissible voltage drop
size of cable in mmsq (aluminium cable)=( I*L) /240
I = Full load current
L = Length in meter from load center to motor

as u know power=v*i*power factor
the load is given in KW
SUPPOSE THE LOAD IS 30KW
FOR THREE PHASE VOLTAGE IS 440V
THEN, 30*1000=440*I*O.9(SUPPOSING PF)
30*1000=396*I
THEN, I=75AMP
FOR ALUMINIUM CABLE 1Sq.mm=1.5 amp of current
for copper cable 1sq.mm=5 amp of current
then, your cable size is 15sq.mm for copper cable
