Why we choose 400kv,220kv,132kv,66kv,33kv transmission
voltages for transmitting power. Why not other voltage
levels.

it is because of form factor (1.11). form factor is rms value/ avg value. power generated from power stations is avg value. but when it is to be transmitted to distant place it has to be in rms. so in order to find relation between the generated power and transmitted voltage the form factor is considered.
The transmission voltage can be calculated from given imperical formula.
VL = 5.5√[(L/1.6)+(P×1000/Cosø×NC×150)] Where,
VL = Transmission line voltage in KV L = Length of line in Kms. P = Power to be transmitted in MW.
NC = Number of circuits (1 for single or 2 for double)
Cos ø =Power factor of load = 0.9 (lag-ging)

You can chose any kind of voltage levels. but as per indian
standards these voltage levels are designed and all
equipment design are conforming to the standards. in
countries other than india there are different voltage
levels . it just like we r using 50 HZ and other countries
60 HZ frequencies. nothing hard and fast logic in selection
of voltage levels

Actually the earlier the voltage are generated by assuming
10% voltage drop in transmission.Suppose if you want 100v at
the receiving end assuming 10v drop in transmission 110v are
generated at the sending end.So all these voltages are
multiples of 1.1, Its not bcoz of form factor. But in general
with improved design now a days we may choose any volatge
levels of practical usage.

Transmisson voltage levels just depends on the available ratings of insulators. In India we generate. 11 kv so transmisson voltages are multiples of 11kv.
Form FACTOR means ration of rms value to avg value and it has no specific relation to transmission voltage. The only reasom we choose these voltage levels depends on the ratings of certain equipments..viz insulators play v.imp role

because at high level transmitting power we woud get less
insulation cost so generation voltage is always taken in
multiple of 1.1,

form factor is absolutely not related to this question.there
is no specific reason for that,we can transmit other than
that voltages but we require the devices like
LA's,CB's,T/F's etc.of same rating.

Answer / rudo mabika
Form factor does
not apply the
reason behind is
that we need to
reduce power
loses in the form
of I^2R ,also to
reduce the voltage
drop along the
transmission line
in the form of IR
also to reduce the
size of the
conductor of the
transmission line

As generation level is generally 11kv or multiple of 11 and
the insulators are designed for 11kv level or multiple of
11 thats why transmission is also multiple of 11,
