Full load current, we can see on name plate of the
Transformer. use the correct rating for fuse according to
full load current. If load is more than 2 mega watt then we
can use a air or vacuum type circuit breaker.

A Differential relay can be used to detect transformer over
current.The Earth fault relay can be used to detuct over
current thro' earth.(These relays ultimately going to
initiate the circuit breaker to interupt the fault)

i agree with silpa..relay is used only for sensing but the
interruption is performed by circuit breaker...so by using
OC breaker we can protect the transformer from the OC...
