Is it recommended to apply H.pot test for new cables
segments after terminations or joints, however, this cable
has been tested before at the manufactor by the vendor ? or
only we can apply megger tests ?
Answer / sudhakar g
Hpot is the test we can do if any cable damage happend or any leakage of current....Every cables must be tested before they sent to consumer and the test certificates also provided when ever we buy that product....Before terminated to any transformer or panels or any equipment...We have to do the megger test because if there is any cable damage while we are laying the cable....If you go for high rise buildings it is recommended use Rising main, you will tap the supply from the Rising main and main advantage is voltage drop is not occur compare to cable laying.......
