Why Pressure Transmitter is NOT installed before up-stream of an ORIFICE PLATE? in a flow measurement.

I had never came across this situation.
Orifice creates a pressure drop across the plate and hence measuring the pressure on the upstream doesn't provide any significance. Pressure after the orifice always carries significance.

Orifice plate is no need for PT, Orifice is only used for DPT

Pressure transmitter is not installed before up-stream of an orifice plate because in the region of up-stream there exists a pressure differential or pressure gradient.
