hello dear
i have faced problem in drum level transmitter.
the problem is when i engrize the meter meter shows 100%
but the actual level 40 or something plz suggest me

It seems that transmitter low side leg is leaking, or low
side is not being fully condensing.
Please chck low leg fittings, connections and if ok. Then
check transmitter high side and low side pressures with the
help of digital pressure gauge. May be transmitter low side
any problem. When you calibrate tranmitter workshop, also
apply pressure to its low side, indication should go down
to confirm that low side is ok.

The impulse tubes must be filled with process fluid or fill
fluid such as glycol. Additionally the specific gravity of
the fill fluid must be calculated in reference to the
process fluid being measured
Glycerin (Specific Gravity=1.26) for the impulse tubes a
correction must be made.
DP span of 100”= physical height difference of impulse tubes
on vessel
SG of fluid being measured (Oil = 0.68)
Glycerin filled tubes (SG = 1.26)
Since the Low Pressure Leg will be filled with Glycerin we
multiply the span by the SG of the Fill Fluid
100” x 1.26 = 126” so the Lower Range value will be -126”
Span will be the LRV – (SG of fluid) x ( tank Level span) = 68”
-126” + 68” = -58”
-126 LRV
-58 URV

re-check the transmitter range, process connections, if
this arrangement is wet leg type then check that the leg is
filled with liquid.

capillary type tranmitter using remote seals and capillary tubes filled with liquid of known of known density so if you wanna callibrate it just close block valve just before capilary @ high side & connect druck apply it's calibrated range pressure as normal calibration ensure low side block valve must be closed & if you asking commissioning so this is not a DP type pressure tx so simple if you wanna put in servie this tx just open high side block valve & than low side block same way i do it but still transmitter showing -13 ma.just tell me what i want to do ?
Why we are using 4-20 mA as Analog signal transmission other than 3 to 19 or 2 to 18 or 6 to 22 like wise ? What is the reason behind using 4 & 20 mA? Can anyone give proper technical reply ?
