In india the geration and transmission voltage is AC..
(1.DC generation also available but we could not going to
generate as much as our require because it has some
limitation for commutator & Brush in DC generator and
also transmission of DC supply is so complicated in
compared with AC.
2.Domestic items all are (Manufactured)working in AC)
and also in india transmission voltage for domestic
purpose is AC voltage.so we r using AC supply in domestic
purpose.

Answer / sai
the dc suply is
a continuous
flow of curent
so it is
harmful.so ac
suply has
fluctuations in
it so it is less
harmful. So we
use ac but we
need dc suply
for al apliances
so we use
rectfiers.

As AC supply is available from substation, if we will use
dc supply for domestic purpose then we will have to convert
this AC into DC. This conversion is complicated. so we are
using AC supply.
