How to calculate load taken by a cable?

Answer / mayank
The load taken by a cable depends on
1. The equipments to which the cable is supplying
(Considering worst conditions for eg. Single feeding)
2. The area in which the cable is placed. That is the
tempreature derating factor
3. The other derating factors like for keeping a cable in a
trench or open air etc. shall be considered.
Multiplying these derating factors by the cable current
Ampacity( Current carrying capacity of cable) you can get
actual current which can be carried by cable.
Multiplying this 'actual current' with voltage gives you
the Load that can be caried by a particular cable.

3 root=1.732,for 3 phase-415*1.732 =718. If load is 40
kw,cable size will be - 40,000/718=55 mm2

what is the difference between the 94 lockout relay and 86 lock out relay. I have noticed that the 94 lockout relay is activated when the distance realy is activated and 86 is activated when the 87T differential is activated. but why can't the same lockouts be used for both the protection schemes

How can we calculate the rating of capacitor bank to be connected for a particular load(ex.100kw)to improve the power factor from 0.8 to 0.9?
how can we minimize the off load losses of a distribution transformer which is required to be energized 24x7 ?? capacity of the T/F is 1250 KVA and off load losses are around 2.0 KW.. can we use capacitor bank at the secondary of such a T/F to overcome off load losses? please elaborate briefly...thanks
In a synchronous motor armature current flows due to revolving flux which in turn rotates the load, but in no load condition armature current is zero hence thr is no revolving flux then how motor rotates?
If we says that current is flow only when there is closed path & neutral work as a return path for the same. Then how circuit is closed in three phase as no neutral available ??
