Plc stands for programmable logic controller. Its a solid
state device which works on boolean algebra.\
Dcs is distributed control system which consists of
associated plc's and remote i/o devices

PLC having its own/single controller but in DCS there are
more than one controller for each section. in case one
controller fails other section will run but its not
applicable in case of PLC
