in power plant lube oil system, if oil mist/vapour
eliminator is not running what are all the consequences
occur in system?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
In turbines bearing are sealed either by steam or by air,
and that steam or air has higher pressure than lube oil,
which keep travelling continuously towards lube oil and
then to main oil tank, a mist eliminator / vapor extractors
is installed on the tank to remove the steam / air vapors
in order to maintain the purity of lube oil, otherwise it
will be contaminated and its purity and acidity will be
changed quickly.
