Answer / vivek chourasiya
When a material is subjected to load in a corrosive
environment like in sea water or in chemical industry and
due to which crack is propagated in the material then this
cracking is termed as stress corrosion cracking.

Answer / venky
It is the failure of material by cracks, due to tensile
stresses at specific corrosion environment especially at
elevated temperature. The stresses may be due to residual
'cos of fabrication or stress concentration points like
notches.. temperature also an important factor for the crack
propagation.
