Answer / vishalshah007
there is no exsistance of eutectic steel
eutectic reaction aoocur at 4.03% carbon
but stell get over at 2.03 % carbon
so.. practically as well as teoritically etectic steel is
impossible.
so.. this question is wrong
common guyz.. this is tricky question
think b4 giving answer
thank you..

there is nothing like eutectic steel as such.
steels are the alloys of fe containing less then 2%. and as
we all know eutectic composition is at 4.3% and in this
region only cast iron exist.

Eutectic is nothing but from liquid we have two solid
form...
eutoctoid defined Solid form converted to two solid form by
using heating and cooling.

Answer / srini
the steels are only eutectoid. (hyper eutectoid and hypo eutectoid). steel cant be formed wen C content is above 2.14%. Hence the steels which have below 0.8% of C are hypo eutectoid steel and steels which have C range of 0.8-2.14% is called hyper eutectoid steels

Answer / ravi
basic difference is that eutectoid steel containsless than
0.8% carbon and eutectic contains greater than 0.8%

I currently use 17-7 PH stainless which is hardened to condition CH after forming. raw matl is .1.75"X .12" X .008". Its main usage after hardening is silicon wafer retainer where it's contantly cycled up and down to putin and remove wafer after 40-60 sec process at 400C temp. At this high temperature this part seemed to deform after a a couple of hundred wafer which is what it was designed for in the first place. THere is a proposal to go to a different material to increase lifeline of this part. My question is..... can 321 SST be a plugin replacement. I know this has a higher temp rating but how about its forming characteristics, will it have spring properties, and wont become brittle after prolonged exposure to 400C.
