To configure a Cisco router and switch, follow these general steps:n
1. Connect to the device via console or VTY lines.
2. Enter enable mode (enable)
3. Set passwords (enable secret and password commands).
4. Configure hostname, domain name, and banner.
5. Enable required interfaces (no shutdown command) and set IP addresses.
6. Set up VLANs if necessary.
7. Configure subinterfaces on trunk ports for VLAN separation.
8. Establish routing protocols between devices (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP).
9. Save the configuration using the copy running-config startup-config command.
