because IT dept has abolished aout 248 posts of Insprs for
the year 2008-09 as they reflected it in their website.

kumar is absolutely correct,this time i..e in 2010 the vaccancy of IT insp will be lower than last time & will b abt 90,& for excise also it will b same as there is a rule to abolished 1/3rd of total vaccancy every yr....& is followed frm the yr 2001.......
this time may b abt 10 lakhs application is recvd whereas the no.of vaccancy is abt 3500 including all deptts.as per message recvd...& max.part of meritious candidate has applied this yr starting frm M.Tech,M.E,B.E,to an ordinary graduates...with a lot frm serving Railway persons.......
so,naturally this time the competition will be much more tougher...
See the cut-off of tax asst 09...it's 206....more than 70% not even the the final cut-off............
so we can analyse the future cut-offs with lower vaccancy position.............

Hi friends
there are about 300-350 candidates who have not attended
the interview in cgl-08. hence there are about 3800
candidates who have faced the interview. I think the ssc
is going to increase the total no. of vacancies in asstt.
and the cut off of asstt will fall sharply because there
are only 1370 candidates available for asstt and
approximate 1300 candidates have qualified in both side.
The candidates who have qulifd in both side, most of them
will go for insprs etc because most of the candidates have
preferred for inspers. and there are 99% chance for the
candidates who have qulified in both side.

Yes final selection to karib 4000 candidates me se hi hoga
kyoki assistant grade ke candidates more or less common
hai. Us hisab se 2400 vacancies ke liye 4000 candidates
hue. Inspector me toh excise ki vacancies hi jyada hai
i.e. 1400(approx.) Pata nahin Income tax wale inspector ki
jyada recruitment kab karenge.

correct, 1374 candidates toh common hi honge. It means
4000 candidates hain 2400 posts ke liye. Yeh income tax
department kab inspector ki jyada recruitment karenge, kuch

Mangalam sahi kah raha hai. Cut-off 470+ hi hoga. Iska
karan hai high scoring hai. CGL-06 me written ka cut-off
270+ tha aur final selection ka 423+. Iska matlab hai ki jo
candidates 323 se kam marks written me layen honge unka
selection nahi hua. Ushi tarah is baar bhi cut-off aur upar
hi hoga. CGLE-06 3200+ vacancies thi. Lekin CGL-08 me karib
2400 vacancies hai, is karan mere hisab se asstt ka cut-off
490+ aur inspector ka cut-off 470+ hoga.

Aap sab log ye calculation karo ke there are only 699
candidates in Gen Cat. who have secured 353 marks in Assist
Gr. and I think that there may be aprox 1100 posts for the
gen cnadidates out of 2400 and in Asst grade aprox 250 for
gen candidated. if 250 candidates selected for the asstt.
and remaining candidates would go for insprs etc. after the
selection of 699 candidates the vacancies will remain
vacant for the gen candidates aprox 200 (there is probality
for selection of about 200 obc and sc against Gen Cat.) the
remaining 200 candidates have not secured 353 marks in the
written and if we assume that the average marks in the
interview 55 the cut off of the gen candidates would be
about 353+55=408. Asstt grade me cut-off upar ja sakata hai
but insp etc me cut off jyada nahi jayaga. Yadi Mangalam
and sonu ke bat mane to where are the candidates who have
secured the marks more than 400 in Insps etc. Insp etc me
200 ke aas pass wo candidates hai jinko 353 se kam marks
mila hai. so best of luck all of you.
