every material having its own natural frequency.
that means under normal loads what is its frequency i.e.
no. of cycles per sec which can see in CRT(cathod ray tube)
monitor.
ex. for turbine blades, we have to do natural frequency
test NFT. There they will hit the rotor blade with tunning
forke and check the frequency cycle on the monitor.
for every balde there is some frequency limit. they will
whether this frequency is within the limit or not.
generally for turbine blades this limit is 250Hz.
this test is checking for whether that blade can stable at
3000 rpm i.e. at higher speeds or not. this is our main aim.

Natural frequency is the frequency at which a system
naturally vibrates once it has been set into motion.
The actual frequency at which an object will vibrate at is
determined by a variety of factors. Each of these factors
will either affect the wavelength or the speed of the
object. Since
frequency = speed/wavelength
an alteration in either speed or wavelength will result in
an alteration of the natural frequency.
