Explain the different between gate valve and globe valve?
Answer / Sushma Kaithwar
Gate valves and globe valves are both types of linear motion valves used to control the flow of fluids in marine engineering. Gate valves have a wedge-shaped disc that moves perpendicularly to the direction of flow, allowing them to fully open or close without obstructing the flow path. Globe valves, however, have a disc that rotates within a cylindrical body to regulate flow rate by varying the size of the opening. Globe valves are typically used for controlling fluid pressure and flow direction.
