What is what are semi-additive and factless facts and in which scenario will you use such kinds of fact tables?
Answer / Brij Mohan Singh
Semi-additive facts and factless facts are types of measures used in fact tables in data warehousing. nnSemi-additive facts can be aggregated across time but not across all dimensions. For example, a measure like 'Average Sales' is semi-additive because it can be calculated for each month, but not for multiple regions at once.nnFactless facts are measures that do not have a fact key and cannot be used to uniquely identify rows in the fact table. Examples include product categories or company divisions. They are useful when you want to associate attributes with factless entities without creating separate tables.
