What is the difference between diagrams of it and ct in heat treatment of steels?
Answer / Shivani Bansal
The IT (Isothermal Transformation) and CT (Constant Temperature) diagrams in steel heat treatment represent the transformation of austenite to ferrite and cementite during cooling. The main difference between them lies in the cooling rate: IT diagrams assume isothermal (constant temperature) cooling, while CT diagrams simulate cooling at a constant heating rate. As a result, the shapes of the curves in IT diagrams are usually smoother because they represent a slower cooling process that allows more time for transformation. In contrast, CT diagrams show a more rapid transformation due to the faster cooling rate.

Why is it so hard to find literature on the wear resistance of titanium?
what is the difference between stainless steel and alloy steel?
Is there any way through hardening and anodizing some type of aluminum, it could be as hard as steel? I have hardened steel rollers that run up and down on a ramp along with spring pressure. Alternatively, if you are familiar with snowmobiles, the rollers run on the helix on the secondary clutch.
