Explain the concept of casting and forging?
Answer / Prabhat Kumar Singh
Casting is a metalworking process where liquid metal is poured into a mold to form a solid shape. The mold can be made from sand, plaster, metal, or other materials. After the metal cools and solidifies, the mold is removed, leaving the cast piece with the desired shape. Forging, on the other hand, involves shaping hot metal by hammering, rolling, or pressing between dies. This process allows for greater control over the grain structure and mechanical properties of the final product.
