What is working principle of profibus and how it transfer data?
Answer / Nikhil Kumar Karn
Profibus operates on a master-slave architecture, as mentioned earlier. Data is transmitted in frames using carrier-sense multiple access with collision detection (CSMA/CD). When a slave device has data to send, it first senses the bus for idle state and then checks if another device is transmitting. If not, it sends its data along with a start of frame sequence. Other devices on the bus detect the start of frame and stop their transmission. The master device receives the data from all slaves and sends an acknowledgment to each slave.
