What is the difference between er modeling and dimensional modeling?

What is the difference between er modeling and dimensional modeling?..

Answer / Nitesh Kumar Singh

Entity Relationship (ER) modeling is a process used for conceptual schema design in database systems, focusing on entities, relationships, attributes, and cardinalities. It's used for logical database design as well. Dimensional modeling, on the other hand, is specifically designed for data warehousing purposes, aiming to optimize query performance by structuring data into fact tables (containing measurable values) and dimension tables (categorical attributes).
