State and prove mean value theorem for the function f(x,y).

State and prove mean value theorem for the function f(x,y)...

Answer / Rekha Rani Sonker

The Mean Value Theorem for Multivariable Calculus states that if f(x, y) is a continuous function on a rectangle R with vertices (a, b), (c, b), (c, d), and (a, d), and if f_x and f_y are continuous functions on an open set containing R, then there exist points (x*, y*) in the rectangle such that:nf_x(x*, y*) = (f(c,d) - f(a,d))/(c-a) and f_y(x*, y*) = (f(c,b) - f(a,b))/(c-a)
