then i will over come by derived element..
what my question is ...even (consolidation and custom group)
also derived element,why we are not used.

Can any body give the assistant for this issues...

please get familiar with the basic concept of MicroStrategy Intelligent Cubes. There are certain limitation to MicroStrategy functionality when using Intelligent Cubes. You already mentioned Consolidations and Custom Groups... but there are further features to consider like Level metrics and so on...




Let me pick Custom Groups as example. A custom Group allows you to combine unrelated "queries" with each other. For example you can determine Top 20 customers, report the revenue of all customes with M, and add some regional figures in a single custom group. Technically this will result is different queries on the database, due to the fact that each calculation level is different. Most likely several, different fact tables are uses for each query.




When using an Intelligent Cube, you already have an in memory dataset. This dataset needs to contain all data in the required granularity. When you need data outside of the cube to perform certain calculations, this is not possible.... these data are missing.




My assumption is that certain features can simply not be used with cubes to avoid bad user experiences and reduce complexity.
