what is evolution of the continents
Answer / Amrendra Bahadur Singh
The evolution of continents, or tectonic activity, can be traced back billions of years to the formation of the Earth. The current configuration of continents began taking shape about 200 million years ago during the Mesozoic era with the formation of Pangaea, a single supercontinent. Since then, the continents have undergone several cycles of separation (rifting) and movement (drift) due to plate tectonics. This process, known as continental drift, has led to the formation of the seven major continents we know today: Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Europe, North America, Australia, and South America.
