what is the principal of coriolis mass flowmeter

what is the principal of coriolis mass flowmeter..

Answer / d tilston

The best way to understand a coriolis meter is to get a
garden hose and hang a U shaped section between your hands.
When there is no flow in the garden hose, you can swing the
U and it will swing like a rope. Turn on the tap. Now when
you swing it it will twist as it swings. The amount of twist
and the phase angle between each side of the U are functions
of the the mass of the fluid in the hose, and the velocity
of the fluid.
This allows a coriolis meter to measure both density and
mass flow.
