When circuit is capacitive, the current waveform is ahead
of voltage waveform by an angle. The cosine of this angle
is called leading power factor.
and when ciruit is inductive the , current waveform is
behind of voltage waveform by an angle. The cosine of this
angle is called lagging power factor.

The product of Magnitude of current, voltage and power
factor as mentioned above is called 1-ph power. and if
root of three is multiplied with the above then 3 ph power.
if power factor leading then leading power and if pf
lagging then lagging power. please combine this answer with
the above.

We have .ht motor which is 60Hz.we run on 50Hz.so that it's speed reduce but we had one prob.that motor winding temp increase up to 135 deg.we want reduce this temp.what to do?we arrange ext.cooling fan but not much effect.we want reduce this temp. Inhouse without affecting much.cost. also don't want reWINDING OF MOTOR?
I have a shop heater with a 1/3 hp capacitor start, induction motor driving the fan. Intermittently, the fan motor speeds up significantly for several seconds (15-60 sec) then slows to normal operating speed. The manufacturer suggested changing the capacitor which made no sense, but I did it to no avail. Could this possibly be caused by the centrifugal switch intermittently reconnecting the start winding?
