Can we use BS 6651 and BS EN 62305 standards for computer room lightning ptotection in substation..

Answer / Rahul Sinha

BS 6651 and BS EN 62305 are both relevant standards for electrical installations, but they apply to different scenarios. BS 6651 primarily focuses on the wiring regulations for electrical installations within buildings, while BS EN 62305 is a standard for fire detection and fire alarm systems in data processing installations. Computer rooms in substations might require a combination of these standards, depending on their specific design and purpose. It's best to consult with a qualified electrician or engineer familiar with both standards and the relevant local regulations.

I'm generating a pulse of 3V with frequency 80Hz (12.5ms time period) and pulse duration 0.125ms and feeding it to a transformer since i want the pulse to get amplified around 60V. At the output amplification s happening but the pulse is changed to a spike, can you tell me what could be the reason? (an ordinary transformer 220V-12V stepdown transformer is reverse connected ie. now it is 12V-220V stepup and voltage amplification happens)
