ControlNET is a proprietary network communication protocol developed by Allen-Bradley (now Rockwell Automation) for its Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), while DeviceNet is another proprietary network protocol also developed by Rockwell Automation. ControlNET supports up to 64 devices and operates at speeds of up to 10 Mbps, while DeviceNet supports up to 32 devices with a maximum speed of 5 Mbps. The main difference between the two lies in their capabilities and intended use cases.
