low pf means high sizing of cables and equipments.more heating of devices and loss.more power drawn at the point of common coupling pcc.so economically draining activity.thus pf near to unity required.

If power factor is decrease means the power consumption on particular equipment is increase. Thats only industries are maintain high power factor
