For testing of any new Thermo couple in room temp., it's
checked by DMM.
1)DMM in contunity mode.
2) two wire is shows contunity.
for testing of thermocouple in high temp.
then calculations are follws these formula:
Degc= output of mv +ambient temp
where
1 mv= 26 degc..which shows in digital multimeter

Firstly you have checked 4 pair wire in the thermocouple,then after at adjacent pair checked by DC voltage in digital multimeter at room temperature,if they have show 2mV,it means thermocouple being ok for used.as chart prefer; 14C=1mV

tested by galvanometer.
