Answer / raul
basically there r 3 types of faults..... transient fault
(80%), semi-permanent fault (12%) and permanent faults
(8%). transient fault occurs only for a small duration, the
CB is opened for a short duration of time so dat d cause of
failure is cleared and the line is re-closed by closing the
CB. for semi-permanent faults which r basically due to a
twig falling on d line or a bird spanning around a
conductor.......the auto-reclosing after the cause is burnt
away.........and finally the permanent faults ie single
phase permanent fault n 3phase permanent fault.....for 1-
phase fault, the remaining two phases r operational n the
faulted phases is taken out for repairs n after d repair is
done the line is reclosed n for the other 3-phase fault,
the complete 3-phases r taken off for repair n after d
repair is done, all d 3-phases r reclosed

Answer / vinod
Auto reclose is using in transmission line circuit breaker
with selection of single phase, three phase or single and
three phase.
In transmission line there is chance of momentery fault,
based on the area and lenth the time and times of auot
reclose being selected.
