NaOH can also be used but standard results are based on
calculation done using KOH as alkali

NaOH is used foer generally saponification so due to
reactivity of NaOH may be saponify total oil instead of fat
only so KOH is use for nuetralisation.

NaOH cannot be used because it is highly hygroscopic in nature.Due to which it attains extra water and affect the neutralization process.Consequently acid value changes.
