Stress produce strain or strain produce stress.....?Explain?..

Answer / vijayh2so4

Induced stress might not necessarily create strain.. There is a threshold stress that needs to be overcome, before any micro strain can be observed.. But, any strain, in case of rigid bodies, will induce stresses.. not only in rigid bodies, even in fluids, strain corresponds to shear stress..

Stress produce strain or strain produce stress.....?Explain?..

Answer / deep chand bharti

WHEN WE APPLY A FORCE P ON A BODY THEN THE COHESIVE FORCE OF THE PARTICLES OF THE BODY OPPOSE TO BE STRETCHED DUE TO WHICH STRESSES ARE PRODUCED WHEN THE FORCE P EXCEEDS THE COHESIVE FORCE STRESSES INCREASED WHICH DEFORM THE METAL.

SO STRESS PRODUCE STRAIN

Stress produce strain or strain produce stress.....?Explain?..

Answer / zak

strain produces stress...bcoz whenever there is a resistance
to strain stress developes as in case of thermal heating of
a bar first strain developes which causes the stress to come
into play.

Stress produce strain or strain produce stress.....?Explain?..

Answer / richard

stress=force applied per unit area
i.e=f/a N/m^2
strain = change in length by original length
i.e = &l/l
thus when a stress is applied in N/m^2 then only the material undergoes strain..........

STAIN PRODUCES STRESS...
WHEN WE APPLIED FORCE THE BODY TRY TO ELONGATES AND ALSO OPPOSES TO DEFORM .SO 1ST PRODUCES STRAIN.

Stress produce strain or strain produce stress.....?Explain?..

Answer / apeksha humbe

when some external system of forces or loads act on body internal forces are set up which resist the external forces and this internal force per unit area is known as STRESS.
When system of forces act on a body it undergoes some deformation this deformation per unit length is STRAIN.

So, It means that when force acts on body stress is created in body and as result it may be compression or tensile force body dimension i.e. length gets changed and so as internal force produced in body resist external force it produce stress and due to that stress strain is produced.

STRESS PRODUCE STRAIN.
