Why we are use glass viscometer, and what is calculation manual calculation formula as per USP. H..

Answer / Chandan Kumar Jaiswal

Glass viscometers are used to measure the viscosity of liquids because they provide accurate and reproducible results. The most common formula for calculating viscosity using a glass viscometer (Effeff flow cup) as per USP is: Viscosity (cP) = 3.16 x t^n, where t is the time taken by the liquid to flow from one mark to another, and n is the fluid's specific gravity. There are three main types of glass viscometers: Zahn cup, Saybolt cup, and Redwood cup.
