What is the difference between cracking, pyrolysis, destructive distillation, hydroforming, carbon..

Answer / Sushant Panigrahi

Cracking, pyrolysis, destructive distillation, carbonization, and dry distillation are all thermal decomposition processes that break down organic materials into simpler substances. However, each process involves different temperatures, pressures, and products. Cracking is a high-temperature process that breaks large molecules into smaller fragments, often resulting in the formation of oils and gases. Pyrolysis is a broad term encompassing various thermal decomposition processes, usually performed at moderate temperatures with or without oxygen. Destructive distillation involves heating a material to very high temperatures in an airless environment, breaking down complex organic compounds into simpler ones, such as tar, ammonia, and methanol. Carbonization is the process of converting organic matter into charcoal by slow pyrolysis at relatively low temperatures. Dry distillation is a thermal decomposition process where water is absent, resulting in the formation of solid residues, gases, or oils.
