USA use above for safety & economical reasons. Observe synchronous speed (Ns=120f/P)and output power in watts (P=1.732VI). so, you can design your equipment with less power rating & also less rpm for rotating machines as compared to 50hz, 220ac v. Saving the cost & minimize the electrical accidents.

because current is inversly prportional to the frequency.
so it reduces the conductor dia meter as well as
tranmission cost

What is the Relation b/w star delta starter , DOL starter and two speed starter. if we want to rotate a 20 kw fan in 2 speeds which type of two speed starter we have 2 use?
In Energy meter How many rotation Equal to one unit.
why we use taping of transformer on HT side?
If more than rated DC voltage appears across trip coil of the breaker, what will happen? e.g. in 110V DC circuit system, if voltage across battery terminal showing 121 V
if the rotor of induction motor is purely inductive then what is the electromagnatic torque.........
We have one Energy meter for Measuring the voltage, current, power, energy(KWH,KVARH,KVAH) & power factor. The problem is that the meter does not show whether the PF is lagging or leading. So i want to know that is there any way or calculation to find out that whether the PF sign (lagging or leading) depending upon the above mentioned parameters?
WHAT IS MEANT BY SYNCHRONISING IN GENSETS
for high freq ac,why we first convert AC to DC and then DC to high freq.AC
We all have seen transmission and Distribution lines In transmission lines the voltage is high and current is low(to reduce I^2r loss) and in distribution lines voltage is low but current is high however the size of transmission wires is bigger than that of distribution wires even though the amount of current carried by the distribution lines is more than that of transmission lines why?
How can we find the breaking capacity of a Load breaker switch (LBS) fed from 11 kv supply??ex:50KA, 26kA etc???detailed step vice answer pls.
in an open circuit. test there is no load curent.. but secondary. ia open then no urrent have to flow but there a smaller current flows why?
why 3 phase induction motor only need starter ? why not other motors need starter ?(like synchronous motor, single phase induction motors & their types) ?
