Which type of DC generator is used for electric welding purposes and why?..

Answer / iamdon

The Differentially compounded DC generator is employed for
welding purposes. The reason is stated as follows.

The Differentially compounded DC generator has very much
drooping characteristic. Thus terminal voltage falls rapidly
with the increase in load current. In welding, the load
resitance is frequently varied by varying arc length.Under such
conditions the value of current should be more or less constant.
