how we can calculate power factor in single phase & three phase ?thank u..

Answer / Kamlesh Shivprasad Chandel

Power Factor (PF) is a measure of how effectively electrical power is being used in an AC circuit. It's calculated as the ratio of real power (active power) to apparent power.n
1. Single-phase Power Factor: In single-phase circuits, PF can be found using the following formula:nn PF = Cos(θ) = Vrms / Vrms x IrmsnWhere, Vrms is the root mean square voltage and Irms is the root mean square current.n
2. Three-phase Power Factor: In three-phase circuits, PF can be found using the same formula after calculating the root mean square values of voltage and current. However, you must first calculate the line-to-line voltages and currents to obtain the rms values.nn a) For Wye (Star)-connected systems: Vrms = √3 x VLL / 2nn b) For Delta-connected systems: Vrms = VLL
