the three lamps are connected in series 40w 60w 100w at 230mains which lamp glow brightly......

Answer / meet

40w bulb will glow brightly.
(1)power ratings are given on the basis of a particular
bulb connected with generally 230 V all alone.so connect
all the bulbs one by one with 230 V individually. from that
we can get the resistance of each bulb.r=v2/p.
(2)now connect them as given in question. then find the
equivalent resistance and eventually current.
now i2r (i square r) gives u the power dissipation across
each bulb. more the power dissipation brighter is the glow
of bulb.

Alok and Bhanu play the following min-max game. Given the expression N = 9 + X + Y - Z Where X, Y and Z are variables representing single digits (0 to 9), Alok would like to maximize N while Bhanu would like to minimize it. Towards this end, Alok chooses a single digit number and Bhanu substitutes this for a variable of her choice (X, Y or Z). Alok then chooses the next value and Bhanu, the variable to substitute the value. Finally Alok proposes the value for the remaining variable. Assuming both play to their optimal strategies, the value of N at the end of the game would be 27 0.0 20 18
