What exactly is meant by harmonics and harmonic current?? and what is skewing with regard to this?..

Answer / guest

integral multiplication of the fundamental frequency is
called as harmonics, the harmonic current has the same value
of with different frequencies like 3rd harmonics has
150hz,and 5th has 250hz

What exactly is meant by harmonics and harmonic current?? and what is skewing with regard to this?..

Answer / mahmoud aboelfadel

harmonics is multiplication of fundamental frequency and it must be odd number 3th 5th 7th and the biggest value is the 3th and most dangerous . the cause of harmonics is the load
like (sami conductor materiel, rectifier circuit, welding
machine, any machine work with electromagnetic field)
and this harmonics make distortion in current wave which know with total harmonics distortion(THD)

skewing is a slop line in motor rotor surface make during motor rotor manufacture to avoid harmonice.
