In an inductive circuit inductor opposes the changing
current for inductive load, and stores energy.it delivers
later this storing energy.hence voltage lagging the current.

Leading power factor means current can lead by voltage and
always use for induction motor.

lagging power factor means caurrent lag by voltage and
alway use for improving power factor for office where we
need to improve power factor and get lost cost effect.

Power factor is a cosine angle between voltage and current.
if it is more than 1.0 then it is considered as leading
power factor. and if it is less the 1.0 then it is
considered as lagging power factor.
