what is meant by armature reaction?..

Answer / rachana

all current carrying conductors produce magnetic field , the
magnetic field produced by current in the armature of a DC
generator affects the flux pattern and distorts the main
field. This distortion causes a shift in neutral plane ,
which affects commutation. this shift of neutral plane is
known as armature reaction.

what is meant by armature reaction?..

Answer / abdullah-al-zubaer imran

The current in the armature produces a flux, and it is the
interaction between this flux and the field flux that is
called armature reaction.

what is meant by armature reaction?..

Answer / ramesh pachamal

The effect of armature flu to main flux is called armature
reaction. The armature flux may support main flux or
opposes main flux.

what is meant by armature reaction?..

Answer / kishor s.chikane.

Armature reaction means when the give supply to motor field
winding then flux is produce. After that flux is passes into
airgap the this flux cuts by armature conductor and current
flow that conductor. This current produce flux and apposes
(cuts)to main field winding flux. This apposes prosses known
as Armature reaction.

what is meant by armature reaction?..

Answer / tanweer

the current flows in the armature conductors which produces
a magnetic field surrounding the conductors.the armature
flux reacts with the main flux .the effects of armature
flux on the main field flux is known as armature reaction.

what is meant by armature reaction?..

Answer / b.bhaskar reddy

The effect of armature conductors flux on main field flux
is called armature reaction.due to armature reaction
(i)reduction of mainfield flux and distorion of flux in to
air gap perifery.

what is meant by armature reaction?..

Answer / pallavi

The effect of magnetic field set up by armature current on
the distributon of flux under main poles of a generator.
The armature magnetic field has two effects (i) it
demagnetises or weakens the main flux and (ii)it cross-
magnetises or distors it. The first effect leads to
reduced generated voltage and the second to the sparking at
the brushes.
