Circuit Breaker is used to isolate the power supply to the
equipment and avoid any damaged to the equipment during
the short circuit or overload.
Circuit breaket are of two types magnetic trip &
adjustable trip type.In adjustable there is the option of
adjusting the breaker to trip intantaneously or taking
short time or taking long time on crossing the particular
values. There are many types of MV Circuit Breakers.
1.Air Circuit Breakers
2.Vaccum Circuit Breaker
3.Oil Circuit Breakers
and in LV :
1. MCCB moulded case circuit breaker
2. MCB miniature circuit breaker
3. ELCB earth leakage circuit breaker.

Circuit breaker is used to break the power supply from
loads like switch, but it also protects loads from over
current, short circuit and earth fault.
Types of Circuit breakers as follows:-
MV
1.Air Circuit Breaker (ACB)
2.Vaccum Circuit Breaker (VCB)
3.Oil Circuit Breaker
4.SF6 Circuit Breaker
LV
1.Air Circuit Breaker (ACB)
2.Moulded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB)
3.Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB)

Any one can explain if there is any harm from humming noise heard from air circuit breaker : we have 415 switch board having two incomers from transformers 3.3KV/415V , when bus coupler closed, and open one ACB incomer to work in one of the transformers, the current started hunting around 50 Amps, and heard humming noise from the air circuit breaker, although the load current was only 1200 amps while the ACB capacity is 2500 Amps, and the transformer 1600 KVA. The same didn't happen when taken the other transformer offline. Why this humming noise and current fluctuation? is there any implication or danger, bearing in mind that we just returned everything back to normal and stopped the maintenance of the transformer. Shall we go ahead and ignore this noise?
we have require a Motor (1500kW, 6.6kV, 50Hz) which shall operate at 1500rpm during 30min and after it shall run on 500rpm during 15min. The same cycle shall be repetitive during the whole working days. Which method is best and economic to achieve such type of task. VFD, VVFD, Pole changing motor etc.
