Sugar is a retarder. Hence if we use sugar added water for
concreting the setting action gets deccelerated.

concrete.

Sugar is retardar because it increase the setting time of
concrete. if add 0.05% sugar in concrete it increse the
setting time 4 hours ( Source : Gupta & Gupta)

sugar is used as a retarder bcz by mixing sugar hydration
process becoming slow.that's why setting time increase...
