What are Drift and Diffusion currents?..

Answer / jagannath s

drift current is due to potential gradient
diffusion current is due to concentration gradient.

What are Drift and Diffusion currents?..

Answer / gaurav

drift current is the respose of electrons and holes to the
electric field. This occurs untill the carrriers available.
Holes moves in the direction of electric field while
electrons moves in the opposite directin of field.

diffusion current is holes and electrons moving from areas
of high concentration to the area of lower
concentration.this occurs untill they are uniformly
distributed.

What are Drift and Diffusion currents?..

Answer / hari patel

Drift current is depends on electric field. Only appears
when we apply voltage.

Diffussion current can be there even if we don't apply
voltage.

What are Drift and Diffusion currents?..

Answer / rajesh

In condensed matter physics and electrochemistry, drift
current is the electric current, or movement of charge
carriers, which is due to the applied electric field, often
stated as the electromotive force over a given distance. It
is distinguished from thermally-induced diffusion current

What are Drift and Diffusion currents?..

Answer / deepak

these r 2 basic processes drift is movement caused by
electric field an diffusion is flow caused by variation in
conc.

Is This Answer Correct ?    12 Yes 2 No

What are Drift and Diffusion currents?..

Answer / aviral awasthi

Drift current flows due to the externally applied electric
field.

Diffusion current flows due to the concentration gradient.

Is This Answer Correct ?    11 Yes 1 No

What are Drift and Diffusion currents?..

Answer / sudhanshu

Drift current depends on the electric field applied: if
there's no electric field, there's no drift current.

Diffusion current occurs even though there isn't an
electric field applied to the semiconductor. It does not
have E as one of its parameters. The constants it does
depend on are Dp and Dn, and +q and -q, for holes and
electrons respectively.

What are Drift and Diffusion currents?..

Answer / aman

drift current - when electric field is applied the electrons move to the positive terminal of the voltage, flow of electron constitute an electric current called drift current.

diffusion current - the concentration of material is not uniformly distributed hence the concentration of charge carriers tend to distribute themselves through the crystal. this movement continues until all the carriers are uniformly distributed, this current is called diffusion current.

What are Drift and Diffusion currents?..

Answer / jyoti maurya

drift current flow due to minority carrier because when the applied electric field is not sufficient to break the junction then only small amount of current flow and this is called drift current... when the applied electric field is increased then at some applied voltage junction get break down and due to that large amount of current starts flowing called diffusion current...
