Reheater protection is meant to protect reheater coils from starvation when turbine is tripped and hp bypass valves didn't open.

When boiler is working and sending steam to turbine,if there is no path for steam flow.then to boiler drum pressure increases to avoid that.we use reheater protection.like if both hp stop valves closed and hpbypass valves closed or both ip stop valves and lpbypass valves closed(when it is aft synch). And before synch condition is if both hpbypass and lpbypass valves closed.if both ip stop valves and lpbypass is closed then there is no steam flow from boiler reheater leading to increase in pressure at reaheter and temp also increases as continuous heating.so it is called reheater protection.to protect reheater
